I'm creating this thread due to the fact that OW is using the same asshat spray system as Gmod, I dont want to edit my pics to a certain size so why not use the ZM spray system? I'ts far easier to use than it's Gmod counterpart. :rtfm:

Sprays in this instance i don't think would be good.
In CSS they are used primarily on zombiemod servers for relief of pressure.
But in this type of game i don't know if there a good idea at all

People use sprays in zombie master which is the same genre as OW and people like using sprays on loads of games.

Pictures, wallpapers and so on can become sprays, it's just that the Gmod spray system as i've said is pointless and that the ZM system is user friendly.

If you're talking about the player sprays that you can set in the Multiplayer Options panel, it's a standard HL2DM function, it has nothing to do with Garry's Mod.

Even the standard ones or just the ability to add custom ones?

Mostly just custom ones are used to troll, with.. odd or inappropriate images. It's a useless feature that adds nothing to gameplay. Just used by most people to be annoying "LoL LOOK AT MY FURRY PORN" or whatever. I say be done with them all together.

If it's this that gets on your nerves just ignore them and let admins decide if it's inappropriate and needs to be delt with. But other than that let server owners decide if they want sprays on there servers.

That's a part of WHY I don't like them. It's annoying to admin a server and have to police the feces that people like to spray around the map "for the lulz". It brings nothing to the game, and just opens an avenue for griefing. They are completely unnecessary.

Thats why donators exist, and people who do spray those kind of things tend to get banned by admins after a report has been sent.

There are three reasonable options to be considered: 1) Disable the sprays completely, 2) Turn them off by default so that you can enable them showing to you from your options, or 3) Only allow the default sprays to be used and disable the possibility to customize them. Option number 2 would suit both those who want to use custom sprays and those who don't want to see them.
